We are a registered non-profit association formed in 2017 by a passionate group of equine enthusiasts who have been successfully showing, breeding, and training horses (both Arabian and non-Arabian) for a number of years. By forming this new association, we aim to provide an additional opportunity for individuals, trainers, and general equine enthusiasts in the Prairie provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba to showcase their Arabian and non-Arabian horse(s) in competition geared toward the athleticism of the Working Western and Sport Horse disciplines, including Dressage, Sport Horse, Reining, Trail, and Horsemanship.
PAWWSHA hosted its "Beat the Heat" show in 2018 and 2019 in Melville, SK. Both shows received a lot of positive feedback from exhibitors, volunteers, judges, and stewards. We cancelled our 2020 show due to COVID-19, but hosted the third annual Beat the Heat show again in 2021.
We are excited to be expanding in 2022 and will host our annual Beat the Heat show in Melville June 11 & 12th and our new Beat the Blizzard show Sept 10 & 11 in Brandon, MB. We are also hosting a Working Art of Riding clinic April 30 and May 1st as well as a Polocrosse clinic in the fall!
PAWWSHA's primary goal is inclusivity and opportunity for all levels of exhibitors. We aim to promote the Arabian breed to the public as well as to promote a healthy, active lifestyle with equines of all breeds in a variety of working disciplines.
